Memorial Day Weekend Beer Recommendations
- Russian River Pliny the Elder: a fresh batch of one of the very best IPAs, bottled only nine days ago.
- Firestone Walker Union Jack: new to Seattle last week, a balanced and dangerously drinkable beer from CA that's been flying off the shelves.
- Pike Double IPA: second batch of Seattle Beer Week's inaugural beer, it's gone through another round of dry-hopping and is supposedly even more delicious than the first batch.
- Caldera IPA: solid West Coast IPA in cans from Oregon, a six pack is perfect for backpacking or relaxing in the hammock at a bbq.
- Laughing Dog Alpha Dog: Idaho beer that's green with resinous hoppiness and packs a punch at almost 9% ABV. You might want to share this one with a friend.
- New Belgium Skinny Dip: an easy-drinking, lightly hopped ale with a touch of kaffir lime from Colorado.
- Cooper's Sparkling Ale: Australian variation on a British pale ale, not a lot of big flavors here but light, fizzy and refreshing.

Grand Re-Opening Celebration Today
This is it. This is what you've been waiting for. Two weeks ago, beer started flowing from the five taps at Bottleworks. Today, we officially celebrate our "re-opening" by putting five incredible beers on tap:
Hair of the Dog Matt
New Belgium Bottleworks 10
Russian River Pliny the Younger
Russian River Consecration
Elysian Bitch from a Barrel with Brett
We're anticipating a lot of traffic in the shop today. Here are a few things you should know to help things run smoothly:
- We are open from 11am-9pm. All five beers will be available in snifter pours starting at 11am.
- We will be selling tickets at the front register. These tickets are taken to the back bar area and exchanged for beer. These are all strong beers, so there is an initial limit of 2 tickets per person.
- We have a cash tip jar on the back bar. 100% of the tips we collect today will be going to help our friend Chris Cavanaugh, who was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (Leukemia).

Firestone Walker Beers Are Here

We're excited to announce that beers from Calfornia's Firestone Walker Brewing are now available at Bottleworks. We have 22-ounce bombers of their three flagship ales: Double Barrel Ale (DBA), Pale 31 and Union Jack IPA. These are all excellent beers, especially the Union Jack, which was one of the standout beers on display at yesterday's CA vs. WA Firkin-Firkin throwdown.
Also, this Saturday we'll be welcoming Firestone Brewmaster Matt Brynildson to the shop for a tasting from 5-7 pm. The tasting will cost $1 and includes bottle pours of the three beers mentioned above, as well as a limited amount of the draft version of the DBA. Don't miss the chance to meet one of the most talented craft brewers in the industry and sample some of his work.
Seattle Beer Week: Avery Brewing Tasting Today

Seattle Beer Week is headed down the home stretch and we're ramping things up a few notches at Bottleworks. Today we're hosting an Avery Brewing tasting with President and Brewmaster Adam Avery. We'll be pouring bottles of the different batches of the Collaboration Not Litigation Ale, as well as bottles of the Demons of Ale series (Samael's, The Beast & Mephistopheles).
Adam might have some surprises in store, so get here early. The tasting is from 4:30-6:30 pm and costs $1. If you weren't able to lock down a spot at the Avery Experience at Brouwer's tonight, you won't want to miss this. Hell...even if you're going to the Brouwer's event, you won't want to miss this.

As usual, the tasting will cost $1. Bring Mom with you to sample some excellent Washington craft beer.
