We have 3 awesome events going on during Washington Cider Week.
Sunday! Sunday!! Sunday!!!, Philippe from Alpenfire Cider in Port Townsend and Dave from Whitewood Cider in Olympia are in the house for a Super Sunday Cider Bro-Down. We will be pouring cider on draft as well as cracking open bottles for a badass, hardcore, Washington Cider tasting with two righteous cider dudes. Stop by between 2-5 for some awesomeness.
Alpenfire is an old favorite of the shop. These dudes currently produce the only certified organic cider in the state and have been for years. Philippe will be here, taking a break from shredding the gnar on his surfboard, to talk all things cider and especially why/how Alpenfire is doing it the old school way.
Whitewood Cider will be representing it hard with both bottles and draft here at the shop. They are in their freshman year of making cider but my main man Dave is not new to the game. Y'all may know Old Timey Dave from maybe every cider event in Washington. This dude is seriously plugged in and has been making some rad ciders right out of the gate.
Stop by to try both of their ciders, Sunday September 8th from 2-5. See you then Brah!
On Tuesday the 10th we've got a tasting featuring a few non-Washington ciders. Montana Ciderworks will be here from Connor, Montana to sample everyone on the ciders they are making with local Bitterroot Valley Apples. Montana Ciderworks produces traditional ciders using crab and cider apples. We have a pair of dry-ciders from them to share with you. The tasting will replace our normal Tuesday Tasting and run from 4-7pm. Stop by to meet the cidermakers and also hang with Dan "Jack-O'-Lantern" Frueh.
The following Friday we've got Finnriver stopping by to sample their wares.
Finnriver has been a staple on our shelves for years. Produced in Chimacum Washington, Finnriver produces some classic ciders as well as a rotating assortment of experimental ciders and fortified fruit brandywines. Lavender, Habanero, Lemon Verbena? nothing's off limit for these guys. Stop by to taste an assortment of their ciders and see why they are one of our top selling cider brands.
Friday, September 13th, 5-8PM.
